Beginning & Elementary Divisions are for students ages 3 to 8. Classes are offered by age and are carefully developed in accordance with a child’s physical and cognitive abilities. Children are placed in a safe and nurturing environment and participate in the Ballet West Academy Productions.




Ballet West Academy’s Beginning & Elementary Divisions provide year-round classes at three campuses: Salt Lake City Trolley Corners, Park City, and Utah County. Classes are offered by age and are carefully developed in accordance with a child’s physical and cognitive abilities, setting the stage for future training. Placement classes are not required for Beginning Levels A-C, and Elementary Level A — students are placed solely by age.

Our Curriculum

Educating the Whole Child

The Frederick Quinney Lawson Ballet West Academy trains pure classical ballet with a uniquely American syllabus developed by our Academy Director, Evelyn Cisneros- Legate and Associate Director of Curriculum, Stacey Mahan, EdM, utilizing research on milestones in physical, cognitive, and emotional child development. Guided by the vision of our Artistic Director Adam Sklute in conjunction with our world-renowned faculty and artistic staff who share their professional experience with out students.

Artistic Leadership, Beginning & Elementary Division Faculty

Enrollment in our Beginning Division A-C, and Elementary Division A do not require a placement class — students are placed by age.

Placement classes are held in-studio for Elementary Division B & C.
