Ballet West Academy Housing is considered independent living. Our goal for our housing students is to learn valuable life skills needed to live away from home while also connecting with like-minded individuals. All of our units are leased for double occupancy, helping students to learn how to live with another person. Students are responsible for their own cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, and transportation.

Resident Advisors are mentors living onsite while also establishing and enforcing housing rules and policies. RAs also create monthly student activities to help foster a sense of community. Previous housing student activities include movie nights, potlucks, crafting, etc. We want students who live at the Em to become strong, confident dancers.

Building amenities of the Em include bike storage, a common room with library, board games, and television, as well as a meditation room. Parking options include an assigned parking lot and open street parking. Security cameras around the perimeter and throughout the hallways. Key fob system is required to enter the building.

Furnished Apartments
Apartments are furnished with a Microwave, Trash Bins, Various Cutlery, Dishware, Cups and Mugs, Dining Table and Chairs, Couch, 2 Desks and Chairs, 2-3 Bunk Beds with Twin Size Mattresses. Utilities included in rent (water, heat, electricity, and wi-fi).
The downtown Ballet Centre is only 1.4 miles away. Multiple transit options are available to make traveling to the Ballet Centre easy without a vehicle. Bus stop outside of the apartments. Trax rail line within 10 minutes North of walking from the apartments. Bike lanes on the roads.

2026-2027 Housing Application
All students interested in leasing with Ballet West Academy Housing must be enrolled in Ballet West Academy classes for the 2026-2027 year before their lease application can be processed.
Students will be notified of any lease acceptances or waitlists after the Academy enrollment for 2026-2027 year has commenced in May 2026. Leases and room assignments will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis.
2026-2027 Housing Resident Intern
Students 18 years and older who are interested in being a Resident Intern for the 2026-2027 year must complete the Housing Resident Intern Application AND the 2026-2027 Housing Application to be considered.
Students will submit references and a cover letter at the end of the application. Resident Intern interviews may be conducted with applicants after their materials have been reviewed.

Amanda Kindt grew up dancing in her home town of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She studied many genres of dance at Lititz Academy of Dance and was a part of the CoJoMotion Dance Company. She then continued her studies of classical ballet, modern technique, choreography, dance kinesiology, and more by pursuing a degree in dance. Amanda graduated Summa Cum Laude with her B.F.A. in Dance from The University of Akron in the spring of 2020. A special highlight of her college experience, was when her own choreography, “Elysium”, was performed and adjudicated at the American College Dance Association festival.
After graduation, Amanda was a trainee with American Repertory Ballet for two years where she performed various roles in productions like Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, and Giselle. She then went on to dance with Montgomery Ballet, where she performed soloist roles such as Chicken in Carnival of the Animals, Arabian Lead in The Nutcracker, and Pas de Trois in Le Conservatoire.
Amanda has worked for artÉmotion and Ballet West Academy as the Head Resident Intern for their Summer Intensive programs since 2021. She is currently the Resident Advisor for the new Ballet West Academy housing program. In her free time, Amanda enjoys teaching dance and being a freelance artist.

Kate Weeks currently works with Ballet West Academy as a Resident Advisor for students at The EM, and with Ballet West as Accounting Coordinator. She has been part of the Academy as an employee since 2024, but was once an academy student herself back in 2021. Kate enjoys serving as a resource and mentor to student residents throughout their training and being a part of so many internal aspects of the company.
Kate's ballet training includes more than 10 years at Clytie Adam's School of Ballet in Kaysville, Utah, a year with Ballet West Academy at the Ballet Centre Campus, and four years in the University of Utah's Ballet program. This spring, she will (finally!) graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
Outside of balancing her arabesque and the books, Kate enjoys reading, movies, crafting, watercolor painting and finding time to be outside. Like a true Utah native, she can't get enough of her funky soda and would never turn away a sweet treat. Her biggest priority is showing up for those she adores, spending as much time as she can with her people.
