Dancers worldwide, ages 9-20, are invited to audition for our 2026 Summer Intensives. Students will be considered for acceptance and potential scholarship to all Ballet West Academy Summer Intensives, including those in partnership with artÉmotion.


Our intensives are designed for serious dancers ages 9-20, who desire individualized instruction in classical ballet. The Ballet West Academy Summer Intensive challenges dancers to improve their ballet technique and study other dance forms that complement classical ballet. Our program offers the unique opportunity for advanced dancers to be considered for Ballet West Academy’s year-round programs at the Salt Lake City, Park City, and Utah County campuses. Auditions are required for acceptance and scholarship consideration.

3-Week Intensive
June 29 - July 17, 2026

  • Classes will be held Monday-Saturday with the staff of Ballet West Academy Faculty, Ballet West Artistic Staff (featuring Artistic Director, Adam Sklute), Ballet West dancers and renowned guest teachers.

    Start time ranges between 8:45am and 9:00am. End time ranges between 4:15pm and 4:45pm. Saturdays will be abbreviated to guarantee students are getting proper rest on the weekends.

  • Ballet West Ballet Centre, Westminster University, and the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center, depending on level assignment.

    The 3-Week Summer Intensive showing will be held at Westminster University on Friday, July 17, 2026.

  • Dancers ages 13-21 (as of the first day of the intensive), are invited to attend, upon acceptance from an in-person or video audition. Audition is required for acceptance and scholarship consideration.

June 15 - July 17, 2026

Choreographic Workshop
June 15 - July 17, 2026

  • Dancers will spend the first three weeks as students in the Ballet West Academy Summer Intensive and the final two weeks with artÉmotion. The final two weeks replicate a “company schedule” with a company class and a full-day of rehearsals with guest choreographers.

    Participants take part in a world premiere performance in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 17 & 18, 2025 at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center.

    Start time ranges between 8:45am and 9:00am. End time ranges between 4:15pm and 5:15pm.

  • Ballet West Ballet Centre, Westminster University, and the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center, depending on level assignment.

  • Dancers ages 16-20 (as of the first day of the intensive), are invited to attend, upon acceptance from an in-person or video audition. Audition is required for acceptance and scholarship consideration.

  • The Ballet West Academy’s Ballet Centre Young Dancer Summer Intensive in Salt Lake City, Utah is a one-week program and will be held at the Jessie Eccles Quinney Ballet Centre.

  • Dancers ages 9-12 (as of the first day of the intensive), are invited to attend, upon acceptance from an in-person or video audition. Audition is required for acceptance and scholarship consideration.

    The Ruth Academy and Ballet West Academy are collaborating on a musical theater intensive program again this year! Featuring world-class instructors, this two-week curriculum will help new and experienced performers build a foundation in singing, dancing, and acting. Taught at the Ballet West at Utah County campus with select days at The Ruth and Nathan Hale Theater, the program will conclude with a showcase performance on The Ruth and Nathan Hale Theater mainstage.
