ADDITIONAL CLASSES AND SUMMER SESSIONS WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO OUR INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED STUDENTS | Students in this division are encouraged to participate in the Ballet West Academy/artÉmotion Summer Intensives or Summer Camps. Summer programs afford the student the opportunity to take multiple classes several days per week during the summer, to ensure dancers return for the fall semester strong and ready for year. We are also encouraging our Elementary Division dancers to continue with Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop training, and consider adding Musical Theatre classes. Dancers who are classically trained have the opportunity to have successful careers on Broadway, as well. If you have any questions, please email Allison DeBona and adebona@balletwest.org.

ELEMENTARY C | Ages 10-12 recommended

Elementary C is the introduction to the fundamentals of classical ballet technique building to advanced beginner skills. The focus during these formative years of training is on traditional classical ballet techniques as defined in the Ballet West Academy syllabus. Students improve their understanding of proper ballet terminology and increase their awareness of anatomy, posture, and correct alignment. We begin to emphasize musicality, and further develop strength, coordination, and flexibility. Dancers should expect to spend about 2 years in the Elementary C levels. Students may be required to repeat this level and summer classes are strongly encouraged to stay on track for fall placement. Current dancers placed in Elementary C by Allison DeBona are welcome to register. If you are a new student and interested in Elementary C, please email Allison DeBona at adebona@balletwest.org to schedule a placement class.
