2024 Summer Intensive AUDITIONS
REGISTRATION for the Auditon Tour
We are accepting dancers from the age of 10-21.
Update - The 2024 Atlanta, GA audition has been canceled. We encourage students to submit a video audition instead.
Note: Students will be considered for all Ballet West Academy and artÉmotion Summer Intensives. Video Auditions will be accepted from November 1st, 2023 - March 31st, 2024. Video submission requirements are listed below.
*Dancers who are currently enrolled at any of our Ballet West Academy campuses are not required to audition. Please check your emails for a message from Ballet West Academy on instructions on how to apply for consideration into one of our Summer Intensive programs.
When registering on iClassPro, choose the SALT LAKE CITY CAMPUS (top right corner), click on REGISTRATION, and select AUDITIONS, to begin the process. No photos are required for auditions.
VIDEO SUBMISSIONS
Video auditions are accepted, but in person auditions are strongly preferred. Video auditions can be submitted from
November 1st, 2023 - March 31st, 2024. To register for video auditions, you are required to create an account through the Parent Portal in iClassPro. If you have an account in iClassPro please login using your existing information to register. Ballet West Academy and artÉmotion will not accept DVDs or video tapes. Email a Youtube or Vimeo link, and include passwords if they are locked, to summerintensive@balletwest.org.
Video should open with the student introducing themselves which must include full name, age, birth date, where they are currently studying ballet, and who their teachers are.
Video Requirements
Barre (Men and Women) | Plié, tendu, dégagé, ronde de jambe par terre, fondu, développé, frappé, and grand battement.
Center (Men and Women) | Adagio, pirouette en dehor and en dedan, petit allegro, and grand allegro.
Gentlemen | Batterie and tour en l'air.
Ladies (en pointe in center) | Relevé, échappé, pirouette, and traveling turns.
Ages (Men and Women) 15-21 | Classical Variation.
Ages (Men and Women) 10-14 | Classical Variation (optional).
AUDITION RESULTS
*All correspondence, including audition results, will be sent to the email submitted to the Parent Portal through iClassPro. Please be sure the email information you submit in iClassPro is correct and you are subscribed to emails.
STORM WARNING / COVID 19- SUMMER INTENSIVE AUDITION TOUR
In the event of inclement weather or covid-19 restirctions, auditon tour dates and times are subject to change, or may become virtual. No refunds will be accommodated. All updates will be sent via email to the address submitted on the iClassPro portal during registration. Please agree to accept emails and text messages from Ballet West Academy during the registration process. If you are unable to attend your audition due to the weather or illness, please email summerintensive@balletwest.org.
